Newcomer Russell Dickerson had an instant fan base in his good friends and fellow artists like Thomas Rhett and Florida Georgia Line members Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard. Before too many people even knew who he was, both acts chatted him up on social media and even invited him to hit the road.
Russell tells us their support, but more importantly, their friendship means everything. “They're just my boys and we're great friends first. I would rather hang out and never write another song with them again, you know what I mean? Like that's my first priority, is our friendship, but the fact that they have invested so much . . . Thomas Rhett brought me on tour last year. Florida Georgia Line brought me on tour last year, and we write songs all the time together so . . . I don't know. It's just like it means the world to me because their voice is so strong in Country music that the fact that they're endorsing me is a huge deal.” in Lafayette, LA.
Russell's debut single, “Yours,” topped the charts last year, while the follow-up, “Blue Tacoma,” is making its climb.
