Eleven-year-old viral sensation Mason Ramsey will release his debut project, a six-song EP called Famous EP, on Friday, July 20th. The collection is described as a “nod to Country classics with a modern twist” and features his own tip-of-the-hat to his idol Hank Williams, Sr. with renditions of such hits as “Jambalaya (On The Bayou)” and “I Saw The Light,” plus brand new originals like “The Way I See It” and his current single, “Famous.”
The song was co-written by Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard, who has gotten to spend quite a bit of time with Mason. Tyler tells us there is no question that Mason is destined for stardom. “Man, he's talented, you know? He's super talented. He's already a superstar, he really is. He's a character. We say he's a 65-year-old man in an 11-year-old body, you know? It's something else. It's pretty interesting, but it's been a lot of fun to get to watch him grow. You also kind of forget at 11 years old you can learn everything super quick and catch up on things super quick — catch on to things, rather — so in the studio the things that are more difficult for BK and I to catch on to like he's just like that (snaps). He's really coachable, really teachable and it's fun. It's fun to see the world going crazy over this little 11-year-old boy. It's like a country music Justin Bieber, so we're having a lot of fun with it. We can't wait to take him out to Vegas and open up for him. It's gonna be awesome (laughter).”
Florida Georgia Line Live From Las Vegas featuring Mason opens on December 1st at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
